Forum How do I...?

Get Prince to use my newly installed TTF fonts on Fedora Lin

silviobierman
I installed a couple of fonts to /usr/share/fonts and ran an "fc-cache -f". My Prince 6r9 does not seem to find them and therefore reverts to some default font from the msttcorefonts. Is there an additional step I need to take?

Do the fonts show up with fc-list?
silviobierman
Yes, they do.

Actually, I have discovered that Prince does use the font when I use it in regular style. When I try to use it in italic (for which there is no variant on the server) then it seems to revert to Arial italic. That's a pity. Any way I could get Prince to italicise it instead of reverting?

Support for synthesized bold and italic (slanted) fonts is available from Prince 7.0 onwards. However, a true italic font will look better when printed, or viewed at high-resolution.
