I'm creating html pages with some javascript embedded for further formatting. I use standard headers h1, h2... and use them to create a table of contents with jquery.

However, I have no idea of how to include the page numbers on which these titles appear. I'm currently using the easy Prince engine for windows.

Is there a way to get the page numbers with jquery directly?

You can make page number cross-references with CSS.
