Barcode Font Problem

ilanvolow
I'm evaluating prince for a business that makes heavy use of Barcode technology. I tried using PrinceXML with a Barcode Font located here:

I ran Prince's --scanfonts option, and copied the output into my stylesheet. The resulting test PDF printed the barcodes for alpha characters corrects as sets of barcodes lines (scanned fine, BTW). But when I tested a string of numbers such as 12345, instead of the sets of barcode lines representing the numbers, I got the actual numbers (e.g. '12345'). Is this a bug, am I not doing something right, is there a problem with the font? We have used this font successfully in non-web applications, so it's been pretty well tested outside of PrinceXML.

As my first post couldn't have a URL to the font, here it is:

This barcode font doesn't have a Unicode encoding, and it seems that we are not handling it quite right yet. I've added this issue to the development roadmap and we will fix it in the next release.

Prince 7.1 is now available and includes improved handling for fonts without Unicode charmaps.
