What are the chances of getting an ARM build?
Linux debian 2.6.22.18 #1 Thu Mar 19 14:46:22 IST 2009 armv5tejl GNU/Linux

Or have I just missed it?
TIA

Unlikely. Is this intended for use on a mobile platform?

A plug device. I can give remote access to the hardware if that will help.
If not, back to the drawing board.
Thanks

Intriguing. How much RAM does this device have? I must admit that this sounds unlikely to work. :) How about generating PDFs on a server elsewhere instead? Does your application have network access?

512mb ram, yes it has network access but I wanted to keep things very simple and all users to optionally NOT connect to the internet and only run on the local LAN.
I have some other work to do with this so I will continue on without the pdf support. Let me know if you want to get access and try to compile.
Thanks for the replies and for any future help.
