Forum How do I...?

Install Prince on Ubuntu 14.04

frist44
We've been successfully using 13.10 for awhile, but now on 14.04, libtiff4 isn't available. Running "dpkg -i ..." gives: "Package libtiff4 is not installed."

sudo aptitude search libtiff

shows the following installed:

libtiff5
libtiff5-dev
libtiffxx5
libtiff4-dev

installing libtiff4-dev alone:

The following extra packages will be installed:
libtiff5 libtiff5-dev libtiffxx5
The following NEW packages will be installed:
libtiff4-dev libtiff5 libtiff5-dev libtiffxx5

Suggestions?

You can probably make it work with some package juggling. But today we are building new Prince packages specifically for Ubuntu 14.04, so that will make it much easier. They should be ready soon.

The new Prince packages for Ubuntu 14.04 are available now on the download page, please let us know how they go. :)

I feel there is the same problem with debian 8 distro.
Please, can you update the packages for debian.
mikeday
We have packages for Debian 8.0, which package are you installing, and what error did you get?
Piervit
Sorry, my error, maybe I haven't grabbed the good package.
At least it works now.

Thanks Mikeday
