limit image resolution when creating the PDF

Hi !

I wonder if Prince has a command line option that could limit the resolution of images on the PDF to 300dpi for example.

Thank you!

Currently there is no option for this, although you can use the prince-image-magic CSS property to convert images to JPEG and reduce JPEG quality if necessary.

Are you embedding images that are higher than 300dpi resolution and wish to scale them down?

Exactly.
Some of the images i am using have more than 300dpi and i would like to scale those down automatically when creating the PDF. It is a option that InDesign has when exporting to PDF and that could help to optimize the PDF file size.

I've read about the prince-image-magic property and it could help a lot but not in this case as it doesn't apply selectively to only those with a resolution higher than xxxdpi.

We will investigate this possibility. One complication is that the same image can occur multiple times in a PDF file at different sizes.
