cristianq9
Hello,

I am trying to generate an PDF that is in japanese, but I get tons of:

prince: page 20: warning: no font for CJK character U+5C11, fallback to '?'
prince: page 20: warning: no font for Japanese character U+30BC, fallback to '?'
prince: page 21: warning: no font for Katakana character U+30FB, fallback to '?'
prince: page 21: warning: no font for CJK character U+676F, fallback to '?'

I use this command to convert: prince url --no-parallel-downloads -o base123.pdf

Thank you!

Which operating system are you running Prince on? Do you have any Japanese fonts installed?

Hello,

I run on unix.

I don't know if I have Japanese fonts installed.
How do I check this?
mikeday
For example on Ubuntu you can install the fonts-takao or fonts-ipafont package.

I installed fonts-takao and fonts-ipafont packages and all looks good now.

Thx for your help!

Hello,

I still have issues with Japanese punctuation marks: 、and 。are converted to ?
event after I installed fonts-takao and fonts-ipafont packages. Have any recommendations?

Thx.

Glyphs for these characters are found in IPAMincho, but if you are using Prince 12 you may need to upgrade to Prince 13 as we made some improvements to CJK font fallback there.
