Hi, I am working on a book in Chinese.

On the HTML version, the period is correct: 。︁

But on the PDF version, it changes and appears with a higher vertical alignment (a couple of mm higher in the line, please see the export attached).

Is there any trick I could use to get the correct character for the period? (aligned in the bottom of the line) I tried with the property vertical-align=sub and other values but it's not perfect.

You may need to double check exactly which fonts are in use, perhaps make a PDF file that just contains the period or one Chinese character plus the period and see if they are using the expected fonts.
