How do I show the bookmarks sidebar when the PDF loads?

Could it be that this caused by the Acrobat setting to automatically open the comments panel?

In my computer, I followed your link and disabled the Auto showing of Comments. This solution works and now shows the bookmark bar when the document is opened in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
This solution involves an extra step that I have to tell others when viewing the PDF from their own computer.
