There's no "kudos" forum
, so I thought I'd just drop that beyond the magic that is Prince itself (major), the post-pass processing (which I originally thought was a Big Kludge and Why would you ever need that since Prince is so good) is also a magic feature.
With it, we were able to implement things like math/diagram column/page width overflow diagnostics, fix up bad page breaks vs. sideheads, align sideheads' first baseline with first text flow line, implement poor-man's balanced headers (like prince-for-books), and add no-geometry-changing underlines under the final top float on a page and above the first bottom float on a page which didn't require another rendering pass (so very cheap).
Deep magic, so kudos to the team.
